研究内容
キリスト教思想、とくに東欧やスラヴ・バルカン諸国などで今も熱心に信仰されている東方キリスト教のルーツであるビザンツ帝国時代のキリスト教思想について研究してきました。今後はラテン世界との比較を通じて視野を広げつつ、人間の生死についての問いかけや人々が共に生きるための知恵など、現代の私たちにとっても重要な諸問題について古の人々がどのように思索してきたのかを明らかにしていきたいと思っています。

研究内容
野生動物による農林業や生活環境への被害が、中山間地域を中心に全国的な課題となっています。生産活動のみならず集落の存続までも脅かすこの被害を解決し、資源の管理や利用を通じて利益をも生み出すような持続的な方策を見出すことを目指して、社会科学的観点から研究を行っています。
WTT3年間を振り返って
これまでは地域環境工学を専門に研究に取り組んできましたが、WTT教員として、農業経済学分野の資源管理学研究室に迎えていただきました。新たな専門性を身に着けることで研究の幅を広げ、多様な視点からの農村地域の課題解決を可能とする能力を培いたいと思います。また、海外での調査研究にも積極的に取り組みたいと考えています。学術的な価値を生み出すだけでなく、実際に農村地域の課題解決に貢献できることを目指して、精一杯励みます。

研究内容
My research interest is artificial intelligence with applications in robotics. I am particularly interested in modelling of human behaviour (1) for designing robotic systems which communicate with humans in a more natural way and (2) for replicating human-like learning patterns in robotic agents. In particular, I study on joint attention modelling, head pose and gaze direction estimation; and motion tracking and pedestrian group motion modelling.
WTT3年間を振り返って
I was a WTT teacher at Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology from April 2017 to March 2020. This was a very challenging period in my academic career, in which I worked hard and gained lots of invaluable experience.
Research was the most interesting and intense aspect, since WTT requires high quality and impactful achievements. I found the opportunity to work independently as well as with fellow faculty members and collaborators from international institutions, which broadened my horizon.
Regarding teaching, I had little experience when I arrived at Okayama university. Over the three years, I had the chance to prepare my own lectures at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and the opportunity to work with experienced teachers, from whom I learned a great deal.
Without the invaluable guidance of my mentor professor, it would not have been possible to accomplish these goals. The members of gender equality office were available at any moment to provide support and assistance. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to all my colleagues and students, who were involved in my studies. I believe I will profit from the experience I gained during WTT throughout my academic career.
周りの先生方や事務の方々に支えられ、新しい環境にも徐々に慣れてきました。学生の皆さんと触れ合う機会も増え、私自身かつて問い、今も研究の根本的な動機となっている人間の生死や宗教についての問題意識を多々共有していることが分かり、嬉しく思っています。同時に、自分では思いもよらなかった発想や観点から研究をされている他の先生方や学生の皆さんに大いに刺激を受けています。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
