研究内容
I work in the field of instrumentation and instrument science for cosmology and X-ray space missions, especially on the upcoming JAXA-led space mission LiteBIRD. LiteBIRD seeks to measure cosmological B-modes, which would give historical evidence towards cosmic inflation. In order to achieve this,
LiteBIRD must be able to measure a very tiny signal and have precise control and mastery over systematic effects. I am mainly working on the interaction between radiation (cosmic rays) and highly-sensitive sub-Kelvin detectors, as well as the thermal effects affecting the telescope focal plane from charged particle impacts.
I also plan to apply my knowledge of detection systems to experimental efforts towards astroparticle physics experiments (dark matter detection and/or neutrino measurements), as well as understanding of other systematic effects facing the next generation of space, balloon, and ground-based telescopes.
As a WTT faculty, I hope to expand my current expertise by inspiring the next generation of students (undergraduate or graduate) as a leader of a laboratory and as an educator. By utilising the opportunity of being a PI, my current interest in systematic effects will blossom into a fully-fledged laboratory sparking innovations in the coming decades for space instrumentation.
